The Epicenter of the Maelstrom Mundane Astrology Series – The 2022 Forecasts/Predictions for the World, USA, and The Philippines Part 2

Prepare now! – To put the gist of this forecast succinctly. Similar to the previous mundane astrological prediction series, we will explore the implications of the 2022 Cancer Ingress (forecasts cover from June 21, 2022, to September 22/23, 2022). However, please know that the Cancer Ingress is supplementary for the Philippines and the USA because the validity of the 2022 Aries Ingress charts is until September 2022. Included in this forecast are the potential outcomes of the Libra Ingress plus the eclipses happening in the signs of Taurus and Scorpio. Like the previous articles, I will divide it into the Global interpretation, the Philippine-specific, and the US-specific interpretation. If you are new to the site and astrology, please know the forecast contains deep astrology-related terminologies and concepts, so I suggest reading only the forecast, which is in bold and italic. If you are from the Philippines and the USA, I also suggest reading the Global Interpretation first to get a better picture. As we push through the subsequent months, events to come will snowball, pushing us down towards the long, dark, and gusty vortex.

Into the Darker Tone of Grey: The 2022 Cancer Ingress

The 2022 Cancer Ingress is a crucial juncture that inflames the issues currently dealt with by the populace and the world leaders. It is also worth highlighting the effects of the first lunar eclipse of the year, which will have its orb of intensity during this period. What this holds for us is we will experience the lunar eclipse’s full effects, fueling and complicating further the issues with no apparent resolution in sight. Figure 1 below shows the Cancer Ingress chart. I set the chart in the Philippines’ capital, Manila (swipe right), and Washington, DC (swipe left).

Figure 1. The 2022 Cancer Ingress for the Philippines and the United States of America.

The Global Interpretation of the Ingress

For this ingress, we will focus our attention on the planets the Sun and the Moon will apply to. We again begin with the Moon and see it waning in a cardinal, fiery, and bestial sign of Aries. She is in the domicile of Mars and the exaltation of the Sun. The Sun also rules the Moon as the daytime triplicity ruler, while Jupiter takes the helm as the nocturnal triplicity ruler. From the significations above, we expect the populace predisposed and/or exposed to anger, recklessness, and violence. However, with the Sun and Jupiter’s rulership, people could also display courage, a sense of justice, and initiative.

We look back into the planets she separated from and evaluate the planets she will apply to understand comprehensively the significations she carries and will bring to the fore. The planets the Moon has separated from are Jupiter in Aries and Mercury in Gemini upon the Sun’s ingress in Cancer. Mars in Aries, Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, and Pluto retrograde in Capricorn are the planets the Moon will apply to.

Our attention will first be on Jupiter and Mercury as the last planets the Moon has separated from. We start with Jupiter and he is in Aries. He is peregrine but gains triplicity for those countries with nocturnal ingress charts. Here, Jupiter is powerful because he is direct, in a masculine sign, and in his oriental phase, albeit slowing down. For those countries with a diurnal chart and with him above the horizon, he is in what is called In Hayz. To put it simply, the significations and concerns associated with Jupiter are visible for everyone to experience. Jupiter [1] has rulership over economies (global markets) and banks, but also the courts and legal counsel. He also rules religion and religious people. Mars ruling the Moon and Jupiter suggest the listed significations of Jupiter, could disgruntle the populace. Perhaps the problems from the aforementioned significations are volatile, which will cause a lot of disputes and disagreements. Since the Moon has also separated from Mercury in a vocal sign, we expect there could be a lot of rallies and protests. The Moon applying to Mars portends this could escalate to riots or an uprising and/or violence. Another testimony for the populace having their attention on the significations we attribute to Jupiter is Jupiter collecting light from the Sun in Cancer and Mercury in Gemini. Later on, we will expound a forecast on this.

After Jupiter, the Moon has separated from Mercury, and our focus now is on this planet. We see him in his diurnal domicile in Gemini. Similar to Jupiter, he is In Hayz with him in a masculine sign and oriental in phase. He is conjunct with the fixed star Aldebaran [2]. Mercury [1] naturally signifies the media outlets and information resources. He also has rulership over trade, commerce, and transportation. Mercury powerful by essential and accidental dignities suggests the attention of the populace is on the listed significations. In this double-bodied sign, and with Mercury applying a square to Neptune with negative reception, there could be a lot of confusion and deceit, so it is imperative to exercise discernment. The Moon separating from Mercury in the social, vocal, and rational sign portends the people are outspoken, especially about the things that Mercury signifies. Looking at the aspects of Mercury, we see him separating from Jupiter by sextile with a negative reception, where Mercury is in the sign of Jupiter’s detriment. In the current context, what this means is the issues in the supply chain will further disrupt the economy, thus will exacerbate the inflation problem. It is noteworthy that the Moon translates Mercury’s light to Mars, while Mercury will also translate the light from Jupiter to Mars. Mercury’s connection to Mars supports the testimony of the issues of trade and commerce. Road and transportation accidents remain a common occurrence. Mercury’s connection with Jupiter augurs extreme volatility in the financial markets. According to Vivian Robson [2], Mercury conjunct Aldebaran affects health and domestic affairs, prominence through mercurial matters, material gain, and many learned friends. In the mutable, human, vocal, and social sign of Gemini, Mercury’s placement here in connection to Mars augurs social unrest. We should note that Mars here is also in his oriental phase and this makes people likely to see and feel his significations. From this, it is not uncommon to see violent protests in the period covered by the Cancer Ingress. This Mercury-Mars connection potentially signifies projectile weaponry, so it is not uncommon to hear news about it in the following months. The configuration also is a traditional indicator of earthquakes, eruptions, and explosions. Mercury is the natural significator of the winds. With Mercury in his oriental phase, in a hot and wet sign, aspecting Jupiter (hot and wet), the Moon (cold and wet), and Mars in Aries (which is hot and dry) augur hot winds carrying a lot of humidity. We expect an extremely hot, humid, and windy summer for the northern hemisphere and subtropical areas. The excessive heat is favorable for producing powerful cyclones in the tropics. Fires and lower agricultural yield because of drought could be problems. The winter in the southern hemisphere could be mild, but the high humidity and windiness remain, so we expect inundating floods and destruction from pestilential winds.

After Mars, Saturn is the next planet the Moon will apply to. We should note that Mars, Saturn, and Pluto now enclose the Moon. The besiegement of the Moon from these planets is harmful to the populace or it could produce events that are uncomfortable for the populace to deal with.

We assess first Saturn and he is in his diurnal domicile Aquarius but retrograde. He is in a superior position relative to the Moon. Here, Saturn negatively receives the Moon because he is in the sign of Saturn’s fall. What this means is there could be harm to the populace and/or the populace will deal with issues coming from the Saturnian significations. The Saturnian significations [1] the populace will deal with are issues concerning the elderly, the high national death rate, epidemics and pandemics, the probable devaluation of commercial real-estate, decongestion of cities, appreciation of agricultural and suburban lands, issues on food production through agriculture, mining of precious minerals and other subterranean resources such as oil and coal. The Moon translating Mars’ light to Saturn could give rise to disruptions and disputes coming from the mentioned significations.

Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn is the last planet the Moon applies to. Pluto [1] is the planet that signifies organized crimes, the deep state, espionage, and abuse of power. It is also the modern significator of death. Pluto is in the sign of the Moon’s detriment, so we expect harm coming from the Plutonian significations.

Our attention now is on the natural significator of the leaders, which is the Sun [1]. The luminary also signifies the monarch and the eminent. It is in Cancer, so the Moon and Jupiter rule it. The Sun applies a square to Jupiter in Aries with mutual reception by exaltation. As mentioned earlier, Jupiter collects the light from the Sun and Mercury, which means the world leaders put a high priority on economic concerns. The Moon is exalting the Sun, so the populace’s full attention is on their leaders’ decisions regarding economic matters. It could be a delicate topic where leaders have to meet the needs of the populace. As discussed previously, people could be outspoken about these issues, which could escalate if leaders could not address the necessities.

Venus and Uranus are the last two planets we will discuss. Looking at Venus, she is in her nocturnal domicile and in her diurnal triplicity in Taurus. While her condition could be fortunate for peace, order, diplomatic resolutions, and the beauty and entertainment industry, this is not for so long as she is in the last degree of the sign and will enter Gemini where she will lose this major essential dignity. Venus, oriental, in this mercurial, human (social, vocal, and rational), barren, and double-bodied sign portends the volatility of social issues (especially as it pertains to human rights, women, and children) and foreign diplomatic concerns. It is noteworthy that, as Venus enters Gemini, it will sextile Jupiter in Aries with the mutual negative reception because Venus is in Jupiter’s sign of detriment, while Jupiter is in Venus’ sign of detriment. The negative aspect between the two planets in the current context suggests that the volatile economic situation (especially from inflation) could affect the peace and order of many countries. In the same manner, peace and diplomatic disputes could exacerbate the challenging economic conditions. While Uranus does not receive an aspect from the other planets, we see the North Node in proximity, where it amplifies the volatility and increases the risk for earthquakes. With Uranus, a naturally cold planet, in a cold and dry sign, conjunct the North Node, there could be sudden cold snaps.

The Epicenter of the Effects of the May 2022 Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

The orb of the intensity of the effects of the lunar eclipse in Scorpio will happen in the middle of the 2022 Cancer Ingress. You can read the full interpretation here for the Philippines, the USA, and the astrocartography. As a quick recap, we may see leaders mobilizing or perhaps strengthening law enforcement and/or the military. Venus’ condition could mean problems with peace and order. There could also be foreign diplomatic concerns that arise. The Moon in her fall and under Mars’ nocturnal domicile suggests the populace could be in for some restrictions with the active involvement of law enforcement and/or military personnel. This will be an uncomfortable period for the populace.

Our attention will now be on the closest planets to the Lunar Eclipse to judge which planet holds the key. In the chart, we see Mars and Neptune in Pisces and Saturn in Aquarius are the last three planets the Moon and the Sun have separated from and they are the key planets in this eclipse. The eclipse also has revelatory themes related to treachery and sedition with Mars and Neptune involved. With the planets in the water sign of Pisces, there could be events that arise related to water. With Saturn, we will probably see the re-implementation of restrictions and limitations. Please also see the other listed Saturnian significations in the Global Interpretation of the Cancer Ingress section as part of this eclipse’s effects. With Mars as the ruler of the eclipse and powerful, this eclipse can be severely disruptive.

The rationale for the timing: According to timeanddate.com [3], the entire duration of the eclipse is 5 hours and 18 minutes. We now look at how long the effects of this eclipse last using Guido Bonatti’s method [4]. Guido Bonatti states every hour is equivalent to one month, while every two minutes is equal to one day. Here, we get 5 months and 9 days, or 162 calendar days, for the lastingness of this lunar eclipse’s effects. Now, we will identify the epicenter date where we will feel intensely the effects of the eclipse. The epicenter date is August 5, 2022, and when we consider 31 days prior to the midpoint and 30 days after, we get July 2022 to September 2022 as the months to look out for. The effects of this eclipse will probably end by October 25, 2022. However, August 2022 is the month to watch out for.

The General Temperament of the Ingress

The table below shows the temperament of the Cancer Ingress involving the seven classical planets in astrology. It will give a rough estimate of the collective psyche and a general impression of the climate for the period.

Planet/TemperamentHotDryColdWet
Oriental Saturn in Aquarius RetrogradeXXXXX
Oriental Jupiter in AriesXXXXX
Oriental Mars in AriesXXXXX
The Sun in CancerXXXX
Oriental Mercury in GeminiXXXXX
Oriental Venus in TaurusXXXXX
Waning Moon in Aries (Third Quarter)XXXXX
Total12878

Hot predominates with dry and moist at par, suggesting the people’s mood for the period can alternate between choleric and sanguine temperaments. However, the predominance of hot suggests a volatile period, as people could be impatient, impulsive, short-tempered, and predisposed to violence.

The general impression of the climate we get for this period is extreme heat. The qualities of hot and dry on par with moist suggest that while there are parts suffering from immense heat, there are parts of the globe inundated. Mercury, the natural significator of the winds, in aspect to Mars by the Moon’s translation by conjunction, portends the extreme risk for fire and explosions.

The lunar mansion of the planets determines the level of moisture and its fortunateness. We will see in the following table the Arabic Lunar Mansion containing the planets.

Planet/Lunar Mansion in Arabic [5]Moisture and Fortunateness [6]
Oriental Saturn in Aquarius Retrograde: Al Sa’d al Su’udTemperate to Moist-Unlucky
Oriental Jupiter in Aries: Al Fargh al MukdinDry-Lucky
Oriental Mars in Aries: Al Fargh al ThaniVery Moist-Middling
The Sun in Cancer: Al-Haq’ahDry-Unlucky
Oriental Mercury in Gemini: Al-ThurayyaTemperate-Lucky
Oriental Venus in Taurus: Al-ButainDry-Lucky
Waning Moon in Aries (Third Quarter): Al Fargh al ThaniVery Moist-Middling

Looking at the Arabic Mansions, we see the predominance of the Dry to Temperate suggesting the potential for drought during the entire duration of the Cancer ingress. It also mirrors the choleric and sanguine temperament. The weather or other events bring mixed fortunes. On a side note, Mars, a hot and dry planet in a hot and moist sign, is in a very moist lunar mansion and receiving an aspect from Jupiter, Mercury, and Mars through the Moon could bring winds that could be extremely hot and wet. Mercury, the natural significator of the winds, is exceedingly hot in a barren sign that augurs a lot of dryness.

On Towards A Forceful Headwind: The 2022 Libra Ingress

The events of the Cancer ingress could set the precedent for the Libra ingress. We will once more look at the eclipses from the Taurus-Scorpio axis. For the Philippines and the USA, there will be another forecast. Figure 2 below shows the Libra Ingress chart. I set the chart in the Philippines’ capital, Manila (swipe right), and Washington, DC (swipe left).

Figure 2. The 2022 Libra Ingress for the Philippines and the United States of America.

The Global Interpretation for the Ingress

The Moon is in the fiery, fixed, bestial, and barren sign of Leo, decreasing in light, and peregrine. The Sun rules the Moon as the domicile and daytime triplicity ruler and is co-ruled by Jupiter as the nighttime triplicity ruler. With the Moon void-of-course, we will look at the planets it has separated from and will apply to. Our attention is also on the planets that will aspect the Sun and the Sun has separated and will apply to.

We start with the significator of the populace – the Moon. With her in a fiery and bestial sign, we still expect the populace predisposed and/or exposed to anger, recklessness, and violence. However, with the Sun and Jupiter’s rulership, people could also display courage, a sense of justice, and initiative.

Here, we will look at the planets the Moon has separated from. The planets that the Moon has separated from are Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Uranus, and Saturn.

Similar to Cancer Ingress, the populace’s attention is still on their leaders’ actions regarding economic matters. It is noteworthy that the Sun (the Moon’s ruler) in the sign of his fall, in a human (social, vocal, and rational) sign is conjunct with the retrograde Mercury and opposing Jupiter, suggesting the challenging circumstances the world leaders deal with in managing the economic crisis. The Moon in this fiery and bestial sign and its ruler (the Sun), is in a vocal sign conjunct Mercury, portends rallies, protests, and riots as it pertains to the current state of the world’s supply chain and economies.

Looking at Mercury, we see him combust and retrograde in the human (social, vocal, and rational) sign of Libra, with Venus and Saturn ruling. Mercury naturally rules communication, information sources, transportation, trade, and commerce and his condition could portend severe disruption to those areas which could strongly affect the plight of the populace. We expect problems with the supply chain to exacerbate and a higher risk of road and transportation accidents. Venus is in Mercury’s domicile and exaltation, and in the sign of her fall. Venus exalting Mercury suggests the status of the supply chain and the economy play a critical role in the peace, order, and the global diplomatic situation while the essential debility of Venus does not bode well for the peace, order, diplomatic resolutions, and the entertainment and sports industry. We will continue to see and hear news of the scandals and demise of entertainment and sports figures with Venus separating a square from Mars, opposing Neptune in Pisces retrograde, and with her in out-of-sign combustion. Aside from Mercury’s combustion, Saturn’s exaltation rulership over the Sun and Mercury augurs strict censorship, and there could be more that is going on behind-the-scenes contrary to how the information outlets portray it in public. It is noteworthy that Mercury translated Jupiter’s light to the Sun, with the Sun negatively receiving Mercury, suggesting world leaders could still handle economic problems ineffectively. As Mercury continues to retrograde, it will re-enter Virgo, the sign of its domicile and exaltation. When it becomes increasingly visible, there could be important revelations that will strongly influence the course of events, and the aforementioned Mercury’s significations are on a high pedestal. Prices of the commodities could further increase or they could increase sharply. Similar to Libra, Virgo as a human sign suggests people could react strongly to whatever will come out and happen. Jupiter, as the planet the Moon has separated from after Mercury, suggests the attention of the populace is on the inflated prices of the commodities.

Our attention is now on Mars. Mars is peregrine in Gemini and conjunct the fixed star Rigel [7]. According to Vivian Robson, Mars conjunct Rigel augurs unruly, ingenious, occupied with mechanical matters, and great military preferment. The mutable, human, vocal, and social sign of Gemini and with the Sun applying a trine to Mars with a negative reception (the Sun is in the sign of Mars’ detriment), augurs social unrest. From this, it is not uncommon to see violent protests and increased military activity in the period covered by the Libra Ingress. Treachery is likely with Mars in a double-bodied sign.

Mars in Gemini applies a trine to Saturn in Aquarius retrograde. Saturn is in its domicile, in the sign of its joy, in a superior position, and has power over Mars. The trine of Mars to Saturn in air signs could augur troubles in the matters associated with communications, travel, and technology companies. The trine of the malevolent planets in air signs in the Libra Ingress does not bode well for the mainstream media and mainstream social media. It can also show disruptions in communication. The disruption is further supported by Mars’ dispositor, Mercury, which is retrograde and combust. Information truthfulness and freedom versus censorship are still rampant during the period. Cybersecurity issues could still be problems. Regarding Astrometeorology, the trine of Saturn and Mars portends forceful and potentially destructive winds.

After Mars, the Moon applied to Uranus in Taurus retrograde. Here, Uranus collects the light not only from Mars by the Moon’s translation but also from Saturn by retrogradation (albeit the aspect by square will not be perfect). The effects on the mundane level augur volatility and a higher risk of strong earthquakes. Swing between extremes in temperature and the force of winds are likely. The world could continue to see extreme and severe weather. Uranus, in the exaltation of the Moon, suggests the populace’s reactive response to the events that could cause unrest.

Saturn is the last planet the Moon has separated from. It is also worth mentioning that he collects the light of the Moon and Mars. Saturn negatively receives the Moon by the opposition and, with Mars committing its disposition to Saturn by trine, we could see disputes, strikes, rioting, or concerns related to food shortages, real estate, and subterranean resources, such as minerals, coal, and oil.

The General Temperament of the Ingress

The table below shows the temperament of the Libra Ingress involving the seven classical planets in Astrology. It will give a rough estimate of the collective psyche and a general impression of the climate for the period.

Hot predominates with dry, suggesting the people could have a choleric temperament. Similar to Cancer Ingress, it is a volatile period, as people could be impatient, impulsive, short-tempered, and predisposed to violence.

The climate could still be extremely hot. The qualities of hot and dry suggest that there could be problems with the lack of rain resulting in the drought’s severity. It also portends the extreme risk of fire and explosions. We expect hot and dry autumn for the northern hemisphere. Perhaps, later, wet winter in some areas. The excessive heat is favorable for producing powerful cyclones in the tropics. Fires and lower agricultural yield because of drought could be problems. The spring in the southern hemisphere could be hotter than average, which is conducive to severe weather.

The lunar mansion of the planets determines the level of moisture and its fortunateness. We will see in the following table the Arabic Lunar Mansion containing the planets.

Planet/Lunar Mansion in Arabic [5]Moisture and Fortune [6]
Occidental Saturn in Aquarius Retrograde: Al Sa’d al BulaTemperate-Middling
Oriental Jupiter in Aries: Al Fargh al MukdinDry-Lucky
Oriental Mars in Gemini: Al-DabaranVery Moist-Unfortunate

Oriental Venus in Virgo: Al SarfrahVery Moist-Unfortunate
Occidental Mercury in Libra Retrograde: Al-AwwaTemperate-Lucky
Waning Moon in Leo (Third Quarter): Al-TarfDry-Unfortunate

Looking at the Arabic Mansions, we see Temperate as dominating, suggesting average precipitation during the entire duration of the Libra ingress. The weather or other events bring mixed fortunes. However, we should note planets in very moist and unfortunate lunar mansions could bring pestilential floods and severe weather. Alternatively, the moisture and fortune matrix could also show the swings between extremes in the level of moisture, the temperature, and the fortune it brings.

A Crimson-colored Foreboding: The October-November 2022 Eclipses in the Taurus-Scorpio Axis

On October 25, 2022, the first Solar Eclipse in Scorpio will occur as part of the series of eclipses in the Taurus-Scorpio Axis. Figure 3 shows the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio chart set in Manila, Philippines (swipe right) and Washington, D.C., USA (swipe left).

Figure 3. The October 2022 Solar Eclipse in Scorpio chart for the Philippines and the United States of America.

We will look at the luminaries and see that Mars in Gemini rules the Sun and Moon. It is noteworthy that Mars is preparing to station retrograde and, with Mercury ruling him, the effect of this eclipse is revelatory. With Mars in an air sign, there could be challenging events related to the weather, air transportation, travel, communication, and the poultry/birds industry. Mars in this mercurial, human, and double-bodied sign augurs industrial and political disruptions and disputes, social unrest, and revelations involving deception and treachery. Our attention is also on Mars’ ruler, Mercury, and he is in out-of-sign combustion in Libra, also a human (social, vocal, and rational) sign. Mercury is conjunct with Spica [8]. The eclipse could also highlight concerns regarding information truthfulness and censorship, peace, order, diplomatic resolutions, and judicial outcomes with Venus and Saturn ruling Mercury. While the eclipse could bring upheavals through social unrest, the conjunction of Mercury with the fortunate fixed star suggests the outcomes of such could be for the better in the long run.

Looking at the planet closest to the eclipse, we see the eclipsed luminaries committing their disposition via conjunction with Venus. Venus is the key planet for this Solar Eclipse. It is noteworthy that Venus is in the sign of her detriment and involved in the eclipse with mutual negative reception (the Moon is in the sign of Venus’ detriment while Venus is in the sign of the Moon’s fall), so it does not bode well for the Venusian and Lunarian significations alike. Mars ruling the eclipsed Venus suggests there could be an escalation of political and diplomatic disputes. The eclipse also highlights concerns revolving around women, parenthood, childbirth, and children. It does not bode well for the beauty, entertainment, and sports industry. Once more, we could see and hear news of scandals and the demise of entertainment and sports figures.

Please know that the entire duration of the eclipse is 4 hours and 4 minutes [9], so the effects of this eclipse will take place in the next 4 years, 9 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days. We will probably feel the effects intensely from February 2023 to February 2025, with special attention to 2024. It will probably end in the second week of August 2026.

A Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus occurs on November 8, 2022. Figure 4 shows the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus chart set in Manila, Philippines (swipe right) and Washington, D.C., USA (swipe left).

Figure 4. The November 2022 Lunar Eclipse in Taurus chart for the Philippines and the United States of America.

Our attention is on the essential dignities of the luminaries and sees the Sun is in his face in Scorpio and the Moon in the sign of her exaltation. Next, we look into the lord of the luminaries. Mars, the ruler of the Sun, is in Gemini, Mercury’s diurnal domicile, and retrograde. It is noteworthy that Mars and Mercury are in generosity (mutual reception without the aspect) because Mercury is in the domicile of Mars and Mars is in the domicile of Mercury. Venus, the ruler of the Moon, is in its fall in Scorpio. With Venus in Scorpio, Mars and Mercury have final rulership over the eclipse.

The first impression we get from these receptions is they empower matters signified by Mars and Mercury at the expense of the Moon and Venus. Mars retrograde in the mercurial, human, and double-bodied sign of Gemini applying a trine to Saturn also in the Saturnian, fixed, and the human sign of Aquarius suggests there could be revelations in relation to sedition and treachery, an increase in social unrest (caused by Saturnian significations), and a rise in violent crimes. The trine in the air signs suggests communication disruptions and troubles with the information resources (such as the mainstream media and social media). Venus, in the sign of her detriment and combust, could mean problems with peace and order, which could harm the populace (the Moon). Escalating foreign diplomatic problems remains a concern. We could also see an active mobilization of law enforcement and/or military personnel. The eclipse also is unfavorable for the beauty, entertainment, and sports industry, where we will still see and hear news of scandals and the demise of prominent figures. Mercury with the South Node and combust augurs a higher incidence of road and transportation accidents (especially involving boats, shipping, and fishing vessels) and potentially severe disruption of the supply chain. We may hear news of maritime disputes between countries involving projectile weaponry. Mercury, the natural significator of the wind, and Mars’ rulership bring pestilential winds, destructive floods, and waves. This will continue to be an uncomfortable period for the populace.

Our attention will now be on the closest planets to the Lunar Eclipse to judge which planet holds the key. In the chart, we see Mercury in Scorpio, Uranus in Taurus, Saturn in Aquarius, and Venus in Scorpio are the four planets the Moon and the Sun are closest to and they are the key planets in this eclipse. The eclipse portends extreme volatility (in the economy and diplomatic relations) and augurs extreme earthquake and eruption/explosion risks. We will probably see a higher global mortality rate and the re-implementation of restrictions and limitations with Saturn’s involvement. Please also see the other listed Saturnian significations in the General Interpretation of the Libra Ingress section as part of this eclipse’s effects. With Mars as the ruler of the eclipse and powerful, this eclipse can be severely disruptive.

According to timeanddate.com [10], the entire duration of the eclipse is 5 hours and 54 minutes. We now look at how long the effects of this eclipse last using Guido Bonatti’s method [4]. Guido Bonatti states every hour is equivalent to one month, while every two minutes is equal to one day. Here, we get 5 months and 27 days, or 178 calendar days, for the lastingness of this lunar eclipse’s effects. Now, we will identify the epicenter date where we will feel intensely the effects of the eclipse. Dividing 178 by 2, we get 89 calendar days status post the lunar eclipse. The epicenter date is February 5, 2023, and when we consider 31 days prior to the midpoint and 30 days after, we get January 3, 2023, to March 4, 2023, as the months to look out for. The effects of this eclipse will probably end by May 5, 2023. However, January 2023 is the month to watch out for.

The 2022 Libra Ingress for the Philippines & for the USA

As mentioned earlier, the Aries ingress chart for the Philippines and the USA is only valid until September, so there is a need to cast a chart for the Libra ingress. For quick reference, here are the Libra ingress charts of the Philippines and the USA.

The Concerns & the Well-being of the Populace

In interpreting the ingress chart, we begin by checking on the status of the people. To see how we as citizens of the countries will do, we will look into two testimonies. The first testimony is the condition of the Moon, and its Lord are the natural significators, and the second one is the Ascendant and its Lord as the accidental significators.

For the Philippines, we see the Moon in the Tenth House suggesting the people’s attention is on the decisions and actions of their leaders and prominent figures. Saturn is the last of the classical planets the Moon has separated from and his significations are what the populace is paying attention to. Saturn ruling the Third House shows the populace’s concern for the country’s diplomatic relations with the neighboring countries. It is noteworthy that the Moon also rules the Ninth House, which also suggests the attention of the populace is about the leaders’ decisions for the country under the context of the current global affairs and issues. Perhaps we could see the people’s concern from restrictions on travel overseas and/or the plight of our overseas workers. There could be issues/disruptions with electricity, communications, and transportation. We could see a higher incidence of road and transportation accidents. With Saturn as the ruler of the Fourth House, the populace could also worry about agricultural problems (probably food shortages), real estate concerns, and homeland security issues. There is also a higher risk of harm to the populace from natural calamities (especially from powerful typhoons, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions), with Mars retrograde trine Saturn and Saturn negatively receiving the Moon.

We also look at the Moon’s ruler, the Sun. The Sun is in Libra and in the Eleventh House, where Mercury is also applying conjunction with it by retrograde. In the Eleventh House, the attention of the populace is also on the legislation and other government agencies. It is noteworthy that the Sun is in the sign of his fall and will oppose Jupiter. What all these mean, is we could see the despair among the populace regarding their personal finance (relative to the inflated price of goods), the status of the country’s economy, debts, and the global financial markets.

To judge the overall well-being of the people, we check the Ascendant and its ruler as the accidental significators of the populace. In the Philippines, Scorpio is on the Ascendant cusp with the South Node. We see its ruler, Mars, in Gemini conjunct the Eighth House cusp. Mars, in this mercurial, airy, barren, double-bodied, and human (social, vocal, and rational) sign, suggests there could be a lot of disagreements, disputes, and contention among the populace. Perhaps there is a division in the populace’s opinion on a lot of issues. Mars, as the ruler of the Ascendant and the Sixth House in the Eighth House, and the South Node in the Ascendant, is an unfortunate testimony to the health of the populace, as there could be many people getting ill. His presence in the Eighth House suggests the disputes could stem from the populace’s concerns about health, the country’s/personal debts, taxes, and the high national mortality. Mars’ placement in this challenging house could augur harm to the populace coming from diseases, powerful storms, and earthquakes, and could also come from man-made incidents such as crimes and terrorist attacks. The trine of Mars to the angular but retrograde Saturn in the airy sign of Aquarius in the Fourth House augurs the increased risk of natural calamities from large quakes and wind-related disasters. It is worth mentioning that Mars’ trine with the lord of the Fourth House, in an ingress chart, is one indicator of a powerful volcanic eruption. Later, we will check the eclipses to confirm this.

Looking at the chart of the USA, we begin with the Moon and we see her in the Fifth House. The populace’s attention could be on the financial markets and issues related to sex, children, and parenthood. Since the Fifth House also rules diplomacy, the populace may also contend with issues regarding the country’s foreign diplomatic relations. As mentioned earlier, Saturn is the last planet the Moon separated from and he rules the Ninth House, Tenth House, and Eleventh House. As the ruler of the Ninth House, the populace will still deal with issues about the trade deficit, travel restrictions/disruptions, issues regarding education, and support the testimony regarding the populace’s attention regarding the country’s diplomatic relations. The people are keen on the decisions and actions of their leaders, the legislation, government agencies, and the country’s allies, with Saturn as the ruler of the Tenth House and Eleventh House. We should note the Moon rules the Fourth House. The Moon separating from Saturn suggests the concerns of the populace on homeland security, real estate, agriculture (food shortages), mining, coal, and oil.

The Sun rules the Moon and its placement in the Sixth House, but advancing towards the Fifth House supports the aforementioned worries of the people regarding Fifth House matters but also highlights the populace’s concerns regarding the pandemic, public health concerns (regarding the reproductive and children’s health), industrial disputes, and the mobilization of law enforcement (military and police) personnel. The Sun conjunct Mercury and opposing Jupiter is another testimony regarding the populace’s attention is on the economy (inflation), the country’s debts, and taxes as it relates to their personal finance.

We now look at the accidental significator of the populace. The Ascendant is Taurus and conjunct Uranus and the North Node. Venus is the ruler of the Ascendant in the US Libra ingress chart, and she is in the sign of her fall in Virgo. The condition of Venus is another testimony of the populace being sick or experiencing public health concerns. In this mercurial, earthy, barren, double-bodied, human (social, rational, and vocal) sign, the populace is practical and cautious. Venus separating from Mars suggests they can also be hypercritical and opinionated on many issues. Their attention is also on their country’s open and hidden enemies. The opposition to retrograde Neptune portends confusion and division among the populace. It also suggests the populace’s dealing with issues on oil and coal. Uranus, with the North Node, and in the Ascendant, portends extreme volatility through social unrest and potential harm from powerful quakes and explosions. With Venus in the Fifth House, I suggest reading the Moon’s interpretation, as they could augur the same.

The Economy

For both countries, our focus will now shift to their economies and we judge it by looking at the ingress chart’s Second House and its Lord, and Jupiter’s placement.

In the Philippines, we see Sagittarius on the Second House cusp. Jupiter rules the house and he is in his own term in Aries. His retrogradation and presence in the Fifth House suggest there could be major corrections in the financial markets and could show economic and/or currency weakness. However, Jupiter, as a natural benevolent planet in a fortunate house, could be a saving grace and mitigate challenges.

Our attention is now on Jupiter’s rulers, and they are Mars and the Sun. We start with Mars and see him in Gemini, the sign of Jupiter’s detriment, and in the Eighth House. Mars, as Jupiter’s ruler in the Eighth House, suggests the country’s loans and debts, financial relations with other countries, and taxation policies could impact and disrupt the economic growth and performance of the financial markets. The inflation rate would further rise with Mars in Jupiter’s sign of detriment and could cause extreme market corrections. The negative reception between Mars and Jupiter augurs a further hike in the interest rates because Jupiter, the natural significator of banks, is moving away by retrograde and (figuratively) hates the populace (signified by Mars in Gemini, which has also separated from Jupiter). There could also be some restrictions on withdrawals. Since Mars also rules the Sixth House, there are expenditures on the military/law enforcement and public health.

Here, we could see if the measures taken by the leaders and managers of the country are effective. We should note the Sun naturally signifies the leaders and the aspect between the Sun and Jupiter shows the government intervening. However, there could be challenges in managing the economic problem with the Sun in the sign of his fall in Libra. In the Eleventh House, this economic problem could translate into problems with the country’s financial budget. Another important factor here is retrograde Mercury separating from retrograde Jupiter and applying to the Sun. Under an economic context, Mercury’s aspect with negative reception to the Sun by retrogradation portends the challenges the government will face regarding trade and commerce (the supply chain). As mentioned earlier, there is a hike in the interest rates and this could exacerbate the problem in a lot of businesses.

The USA’s Libra Ingress Chart shows Gemini on the Second House cusp. It is conjunct with the fixed star Bellatrix [11] which could bring mixed fortunes. Mercury is retrograding, separating from Jupiter, and conjunct the Sun with a negative reception in Libra. He is also conjunct with the cadent Sixth House cusp. Mercury’s condition suggests serious economic challenges (especially from inflation, trade, and commerce through the supply chain) and the weakness of the currency. The country’s debts, loans, taxation policies, and financial relations with other countries will strongly impact the financial markets with retrograde Mercury separating from Jupiter, the ruler of the Eighth House of the ingress chart. Retrograde Mercury and the Sun’s negative relationship (because Mercury is in the Sun’s fall) suggests volatility and portends a further dip in the market’s performance (the Sun rules the Fifth House of the Libra Ingress chart). With the fixed star Bellatrix having Mars’ nature, there could be a lot of disagreements and disputes in economic matters. Similar to the Philippines, Venus, the ruler of the Ascendant of the USA, is in Mercury’s domicile and exaltation and so it is in the sign of Jupiter’s detriment – Jupiter hates Venus. Likewise, Jupiter is in Venus’ sign of detriment – Venus hates Jupiter. The mutual negative relationship between Venus (the populace) and Jupiter (natural significator of banks) and the applying antiscia (hidden conjunction) suggests we could still see banks and other lending institutions with high-interest rates and limiting withdrawals – a literal explanation of this is banks figuratively hate the populace, so banks raise the interest rates to discourage the people from borrowing money. However, the populace also hates the banks, so there could be problems with bank liquidity, as they could withdraw all the money from their accounts.

Venus and Saturn rule Mercury. We begin with Venus and see she is in generosity with Mercury by ruler and exaltation. Venus exalting Mercury suggests the populace is keen on the country’s economic performance and conservative regarding their financial decisions. In addition, Mercury under Venus’ counsel and Saturn’s exaltation suggests peace, order, and the country’s diplomatic relations play a critical role in keeping the economy afloat. Venus, in the sign of her fall, combusting, with Mars and retrograde Neptune enclosing, suggests the challenges in achieving the economic goal. The challenges could stem from ineffective regulations and diplomatic policies (the Sun in fall burning Venus also in her fall) and the fog in the war theater bringing a lot of uncertainties coming from the country’s enemies (Mars and Neptune in double-bodied signs enclosing Venus also in a double-bodied sign). Mercury and the Sun exalting Saturn highlights issues on agriculture (shortages), real estate, and concerns from subterranean resources such mining, coal, and oil. Businesses and banks could be ultra-cautious, so there could be restrictions on activities.

Looking at the Second House, we see the Part of Fortune conjunct with the cusp and with Mars also on the cups but advancing in the Ascendant. Mars’ placement suggests cash outflows and financial losses with Mars ruling the Seventh House and the Twelfth House. It could also mean spending on the military and law enforcement. Mars committing its disposition by trine to retrograde Saturn, the ruler of the Ninth House of Foreign trade and relations, signifies strains and widening of the trade deficit. Perhaps the government could send aid (likely financial and military resources) to the country’s allies abroad, with Saturn ruling the Ninth House, Tenth House, and Eleventh House.

The Government

The Tenth and Eleventh House are the houses to assess should we like to know how our leaders do. For heads of the state, we also check into the condition of the Sun as the natural significator.

In the Philippines, the Sun is the Lord of the Tenth House and is the natural significator of the leaders, while Mercury is the Lord of the Eleventh House. In Libra, the Sun suffers affliction as it is in fall, but there is mitigation to this affliction with him a masculine planet, on a masculine sign, and above the horizon. The Sun is In Hayz, so he has a testimony of accidental dignity. Another testimony of the Sun’s accidental dignity is his presence in the fortunate Eleventh House. The Sun’s accidental dignities mean it has the power to act effectively, albeit under challenging circumstances, considering the Sun’s essential debility and Saturn’s powerful rulership. With Sun and Mercury in the Eleventh House, the government and its agencies will deal with concerns involving the legislation and the country’s national budget. The Sun conjunct Mercury and opposing Jupiter suggest they will also deal with the concerns and issues of the populace and the economy. There could be important decisions regarding the funding of the country’s national budget and the leaders would consider funding from taxation policies and loans, with retrograde Mercury (ruling taxes, loans, debts, the legislation, and the government’s budget) separating from retrograde Jupiter (people’s money, banks, and the financial markets). The lack of dignity of the Sun in Libra, the opposition to Jupiter, and its negative reception with Mercury suggest the government’s massive challenges in dealing with the aforementioned concerns.

Venus and Saturn rule the Sun and Mercury. The government’s focus is on foreign diplomatic relations, peace, order, transportation, and communications. With Saturn also ruling the Fourth House, the government will put on high priority issues in agriculture, oil, mining, real estate, disaster preparedness, and homeland security.

Looking at the USA’s Libra Ingress Chart, we see Capricorn on the Tenth House and Aquarius on the Eleventh House cusp. Saturn and Mars rule the Tenth House while Saturn rules the Eleventh House. The Tenth House cusp is conjunct Pluto, where it augurs an extreme form of control and/or intense events involving revelations from the government. Perhaps there could be radical changes in the laws with Pluto on the cusp of the Tenth House but falling away to the Ninth House. With Pluto as the modern and natural significator of death, we could see and hear news of the demise and/or scandals of eminent/prominent figures. Saturn, essentially and accidentally dignified in the Tenth House, but retrograde and slowing to stationing direct portends the government’s capacity to act but could be sluggish in the uptake. Perhaps their attention is also on the country’s foreign diplomatic relations and is reviewing laws and policies with retrograde Saturn ruling the Ninth House and the Eleventh House. Saturn collecting the light of the Moon (ruler of the Fourth House and is in the Fifth House) and Mars (ruler of the Seventh House and Twelfth House in the Second House) suggests their attention is also on the financial markets, homeland security, agriculture issues, and real estate.

With the Sun as the natural significator of the head of the state, we see it is with retrograde Mercury and opposing retrograde Jupiter. In the Fifth House, aside from the diplomatic concerns, economy, and the financial markets, the attention of the government could also be on the concerns pertaining to sex, parenthood, and children.

The Effects of the October 2022 – November 2022 Eclipses

In this section, we will see the effects of the eclipses for each country and for us to get a better picture, we will cast a Bi-wheel chart of the eclipses superimposed on the Libra Ingress charts. Figure 5 shows the Bi-wheel chart where the Inner Chart is the Libra Ingress and the Outer Chart is Solar Eclipse in Scorpio chart set in Manila, Philippines (swipe right) and Washington, D.C., USA (swipe left).

Figure 5. The Bi-Wheel of the 2022 Libra Ingress and October 2022 Solar Eclipse in Scorpio for the Philippines and the United States of America.

We start with the Philippines and first look into the Ascendant of the Eclipse. The Ascendant of the Eclipse is in the Taurus with the fixed star Algol [12], and as per Guido Bonatti, the effects of the eclipse are on livestock [4]. With the effects on livestock, the Philippines may encounter challenges in food production, in particular in the meat industry. In the Seventh House of the Libra ingress chart, the attention could also be on the country’s partners but also its open and secret enemies (Venus, the ruler of the Seventh and Twelfth House, is the key planet for this eclipse). Upon further inspection, we see Mars, the Lord of the Ascendant of the Eclipse, in barren Gemini, suggesting the deleterious effects are on the poultry production/industry and from flight/airspace-related incidents. There could arise wind-related events. Mars in this double-bodied sign and the Ascendant of the solar eclipse with Algol suggests there could be revelations about sedition and treachery and could augur harmful events for the populace. Mars of the solar eclipse chart is in the Eighth House of Libra ingress chart, highlighting the country’s financial relations with other countries, debts, taxation policies, and the national mortality rate (especially with the South Node of the eclipse in the Ascendant of the ingress chart, and Mars as the ruler the Ascendant of the Libra ingress chart showing concerns on the populace’s health). Mars prepares to station retrograde and as it moves back, it will meet once more retrograde Neptune in Pisces, the fallen Venus in Virgo, and retrograde Saturn in Aquarius of the Libra ingress chart. The aspects of Mars to these planets support the testimony of treachery and sedition. It is imperative for the country’s leaders to observe extra vigilance when dealing and negotiating with entities within and outside of the country, as homeland security could be a major concern. Perhaps it could also mean there could be challenges involving agriculture and the procurement of subterranean resources such as oil, coal, and minerals because of diplomatic conundrums. This eclipse will augur the second factor concerning mega quakes and destructive natural calamities with the ruler of the Fourth House of the eclipse chart involved in the eclipse. With Mars in aspect to Saturn, the ruler of the Fourth House in the eclipse chart, we have another testimony of an elevated risk for powerful eruptions or heightened activity of volcanoes.

Looking into the USA’s eclipse chart, we see Libra Rising. With Libra as an airy and human (social, vocal, and rational) sign, as per Guido Bonatti, the effects of the eclipse are in the populace, birds/poultry, and flight/airspace-related events [4]. Mars, the ruler of this eclipse, is in the Second House of the Libra ingress chart. What this means is there could be severe disruptions in the economy and financial markets that could affect the populace. We see the eclipse taking place in the Ascendant and the Sixth House of the Libra Ingress chart, suggesting there could arise serious health concerns for the populace (especially affecting women and children), with the involvement of Venus, the Ascendant ruler of the Libra ingress chart. Another testimony for such is the Ascendant of the eclipse is in the Sixth House of the Libra ingress chart. Mercury in the Ascendant of the eclipse chart shows talks, deals, and negotiations regarding concerns with the status of the country’s relationship with allies and/or friends of the country under the context of trade and commerce. However, the conjunction of Mercury with the fixed star Spica and Arcturus could be favorable for these foreign entities and could give rise to the local industrial or labor disputes with Mercury in the Sixth House of the Libra ingress chart. As discussed in the previous blog predicting earthquakes and destructive natural disasters through the ingress and eclipse, we could witness the aforementioned events whenever we see the Lord of the Fourth House of the applicable ingress in the angle, the lunar eclipse chart’s Lord of the Fourth in the angles or involved in the eclipse and the solar eclipse chart’s Lord of the Fourth House in the angle or involved in the eclipse. Here, we see Saturn, the ruler of the Fourth House, portending the factor we seek for mega-quakes and severe natural calamities.

Figure 6 shows the Bi-wheel chart where the Inner Chart is the Aries Ingress and Outer Chart is the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus chart set in Manila, Philippines (swipe right) and Washington, D.C., USA (swipe left).

Figure 6. The Bi-Wheel of the 2022 Libra Ingress and November 2022 Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio for the Philippines and the United States of America.

The Philippines: The Ascendant of the Eclipse is in Gemini, an airy, barren, human (social, vocal, and rational), and double-bodied sign. According to Guido Bonatti, the effects of the eclipse are on the populace, birds/poultry, and flight/airspace-related events. The eclipse in the Seventh House and its Ascendant is in the Eighth House but advancing in the Seventh House of the Libra ingress chart, puts the spotlight on the country’s partners and its financial relationship with them, enemies (secret and open), debts, taxes, and the concerns about the country’s health, well-being, and national mortality, especially with Mercury, the ruler of the Ascendant of the eclipse, is in the Libra Ingress Ascendant and conjunct the South Node and involved in the eclipse.

Our attention now is on the Moon, which we consider as the almuten of the eclipse. We should note that aside from Venus, the Moon has rulership over the eclipse because she is in the sign of her exaltation and nocturnal triplicity, and with Moon accidentally ruling the Ninth House, it shows the attention of the populace and the government is on international relations, where the Moon has separated from Mercury (co-significator of the populace) and is opposing the Sun (co-significator of the leaders). Similar to the May 2022 Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio, the government could face a diplomatic conundrum, as we see the Moon in the Seventh House opposing with a negative reception between Mercury, the Sun, and Venus. The Moon’s conjunction with retrograde Uranus and square Saturn suggests an extremely volatile global diplomatic situation. Saturn’s involvement as the ruler of the Third and Fourth House of the Libra ingress chart portends communication and transportation problems for both local and foreign and the impact of the global diplomatic situation on homeland security, agriculture, oil, coal, and real estate matters. It is another testimony portending diplomatic troubles among nations are brewing overseas, especially with our neighboring countries.

This eclipse augurs potentially devastating natural disasters. The involvement of Mercury as the Fourth House ruler of the eclipse chart in the eclipse and with it in the Ascendant, combusting, and opposing Uranus in Taurus of the Libra ingress chart could complete the third factor when judging mega-quakes, powerful volcanic activities, and extreme natural calamities. It is imperative for the populace to be on high alert in the following months.

The USA: Looking into the lunar eclipse in the Taurus chart, we see Scorpio rising. The effect of the eclipse will be water-related, on liquid products, on insects, and involves aquatic animals that are poisonous, with Scorpio as a watery, fixed, and a Mars-ruled sign. With the Ascendant of the eclipse in the Sixth House of the Libra ingress chart, the attention is on the country’s health concerns, jobs, and the activity of police and law enforcement. Its ruler, Mars, is in the human sign of Gemini and the Second House of the ingress chart, suggesting there could be industrial disputes and strikes as it relates to the employment, workers’ wages and over-all work conditions. Looking simultaneously at eclipse and ingress charts, there are worries over debts, taxes, and the economic situation of the country. Another implication of this eclipse is that it could also mean expenditure on the mobilization of the military services and law enforcement personnel.

Taurus rising in the Libra ingress suggests the remarkable impact of this eclipse because the Moon’s darkening is right smack in the ingress’s Ascendant. As mentioned earlier, there could be serious health concerns that could be out in the open for everyone/many to see and/or experience. The Moon, as the ruler of the Third House, is conjunct with Uranus, opposing the planets in Scorpio, and squaring Saturn in Aquarius, suggesting the eclipse could bring bodily harm to the populace from road and transportation accidents and calamities. It could also augur severe transportation and communication disruptions and escalating disputes with neighboring countries.

Here, we will now check for the last of the mega-quake and extreme calamity factor, so our attention is on the eclipse chart alone. Aquarius is on the Fourth House cusp, so its ruler is Saturn. We see Saturn in his diurnal domicile in Aquarius, angular in the Fourth House, and is involved in the eclipse. This lunar eclipse makes two of the three testimonies we seek for mega-quakes and extreme calamities. While this is the case, I suggest extra vigilance and doing preparations.

Earthquakes, Other Natural Disasters, & Eclipse Astrocartography

This segment will show the Astrocartography of the Eclipses, which shows the places all over the world at high risk for earthquakes or perhaps natural disasters. Here, we will look into the eclipse lines, the lines of Mars as the traditional ruler of quakes, Uranus as the quake’s modern significator, and Jupiter as the indicator of powerful earthquakes. The points of intersection show an extreme risk of these events. Figures 7 and 8 show the Astrocartography of the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus and Solar Eclipse in Scorpio.
